New Business
Welcome to new member, Katherine McLaughlin
Membership vacancy, Becky Johnson. Consider creating permanent, rotating position for ADSGC Prevention Specialist. Would require a change in the by-laws.
June, nominations for elections. Need secretary.
Jenna reports on HWY 191 Safety checks inside Yellowstone Park. Two DUIs were obtained at the April 24th safety check she visited. That event was successful and well-orchestrated. There was another check in early May. There are no future security checks scheduled at this time.
Bob Larson viewed the film the Task Force funded and noticed an error in how the DUI Task Force is mentioned in the credits. Corrections need to be made before we complete the funding process.
Cheri Lofton mentioned that though the DUI Task Force has to focus on alcohol-related impairment, MHP Sgt. Wisnewski would like to come in and present on drug recognition and how it works.
Marketing
Discuss marketing grant request to the state, May 31st deadline
Quarterly DUI Advertising Campaign
- Back to School (before sweet pea through the holiday), Chronicle on Police Reports page) ad, Answer Book ad on campus
- Christmas: Obvious Ads, continue with postcards to businesses (?), inserts with Chamber of Commerce newsletters.
- Discontinue BAC cards (they have been popular in the past). Maybe add a Late Night Streamline route map/schedule and tag in with BAC in one foldout?
Jenna’s proposed plan was motioned for approval by Susan Wordal, and seconded by Jeff McRae. Unanimous approval.
Memorial Day: group ad with Chronicle is moving forward. Jenna committed to two campaigns with KBOZ, one on graduation weekend and one for Memorial Day: 100 ads at $100 for each.
Profile on Cherie will be featured in the August issue of Balance magazine (Chronicle)
